Hire A Designer First
It is often that I am called into a space mid-construction and I think, “I wish you’d called me first.”
If you are renovating your home – whether it’s your entire home or just one space, the best advice I can give you is to hire a designer first.
Usually, the homeowner or investor is stressed out and pointing out all of the things they ordered that they wished they hadn’t; telling me how many things have had to be ripped out and change because they didn’t look good; or telling me how they wish they had thought of this or that beforehand.
Designers may seem like an extra expense but a good designer will actually save you money, time and most importantly stress.
Five Ways Designers Save You Money & Stress:
- A designer will assess your design style and build a design within your budget.
- A designer can offer discounts on certain products which can offset their cost.
- A designer will build a sustainable design that should ideally last ten years or more so that you don’t have to renovate again so soon.
- Instead of you running around trying to piece together elements, a designer will do this for you according to your design aesthetic.
- A designer knows what’s available, how to coordinate materials and how to finish out a project so that it looks higher-end and professional.
The key is finding the right designer for you and your project. We’ll go into that next.
